WHO AM I
Hi! My name is Melisa and I am a fine art artist currently based in Bristol, UK. I was born in Czechia and moved to the uk to pursue art at a university away from home and my comfort zone.
I am a painter and a performer with focus on the ‘eye’ and how we see people and ourselves.
I have exhibited my work quite a few times over the course of my practice. Most recently, I showed my work in a group exhibition ‘Open Walls’ situated at the Bristol Cass Art shop. Back in 2023, I exhibited alongside my university peers in Filet gallery, London. During my studies, my work was nominated for the Freelands Painting Prize. That same work has won me the Art Station Graduate Award which resulted in my debut duo exhibition at the Art Station in Saxmundham.
One of my favourite things I have experienced was having private conversations about my work with amazing artists like Graham Crowley and Simon Carter, whose work really influenced my early work.
I will be creating more work that will be accessible to those who enjoy it. That way, I will also be able to fund my practice <3 I appreciate all of you and hope to show you my work in real life soon!
